Vroom: Automatically Fast Forwards YouTube Adverts
Vroom is a Chrome add-on developed by dudester551 that aims to provide a solution to the annoyance of YouTube adverts. Instead of blocking ads, Vroom automatically fast forwards them, allowing users to quickly get to the content they want to watch.
With Vroom, when a video starts playing, the add-on detects it and increases the playback speed to over 15 times, effectively fast forwarding through the ad. Additionally, if the ad has a skip button that appears after a few seconds, Vroom can automatically press it, further speeding up the ad-skipping process.
In addition to its ad-fast forwarding capabilities, Vroom also includes a toggle that allows users to skip ads as soon as the skip button becomes available, without waiting for the ad to finish or the 3-second countdown to pass. However, the developers do not recommend using this feature as it may negatively impact content creators who rely on ad revenue.
